This  bike and boat tour  is around the central Dalmatia region of Croatia. This bike tour in Southern Dalmatia, the smallest and most sparsely populated region of Croatia, will take us past unique little towns and the beautiful island countryside. These tours will let us experience the beautiful island of Korcula with its picturesquely situated old township, the wine growing peninsula of Pelješac and, to the south of the peninsula, the island of Mljet, with its impressive national park. Our tour guide explains us the towns of Trogir, Hvar, Stari Grad and Korcula, which are almost all protected under UNESCO‘s World Heritage list.

Level 2-3 Guided Bike and Boat Tour

Day 1 (Sat) Trogir – Split – Omis Cycle approx. 20 km/12 miles
Individual arrival. After check in on the motor yacht the first short cruise starts at 1 pm from Trogir to Split. Here we undertake our first cycle tour to the Marjan mountain, a popular relaxation destination for the inhabitants of Split. After this tour our guide accompanies us on a walk through the old town of Split, which is built adjoining the famous palace of the Roman Caesar Diokletian and is a world heritage site. After a short crossing we reach Omis, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 2 (Sun) Cetina Canyon Cycle approx. 43 km/27 miles
After breakfast we cycle into the valley of the Cetina River, which has buried itself deep into the cliff faces. We return to Omis with its pirate castles by way of small side roads through a varied landscape. There is also the option of taking part in a 2 hour rafting tour on the Cetina River. In the afternoon we cross over to Brac Island with a swim break. The island of Brac is very famous for its white marble which has been used for the White House in Washington and the Reichstag in Berlin.

Day 3 (Mon) Brac Island Cycle approx. 30 km/19 miles
Today's route begins in Povlja with a long but moderate ascent to the mountain ridge of the island past mulberry, kiwi and fig trees, olive groves and vineyards. The following descent to Bol rewards us for our earlier climb with amazing panoramic views of the neighboring island Hvar. Right before lunch we cross to the island of Korcula whose capital town vies with Venice for the title of the birth place of Marco Polo.

Day 4 (Tues) Pelješac Peninsula and Mljet Cycle route approx. 26 km/16 miles + 12 km/7 miles.
Pelješac impresses visitors even from afar with its Sv. Ilja Mountain, which rises almost 1000 meters from the sea. After a short cruise in the morning we make a cycle tour into the inland of the island, past the most famous wine growing region of Dalmatia (the excellent Plavac und Dingac, Mljet, which is also known as the honey island. In the 12th century Benedictine monks founded a beautifully situated monastery, which we will see on our short bike trip. The local pine forest is one of the most beautiful of its kind in the entire Mediterranean region; Odysseus is said to have spent 7 years here. Today this region is a National park and one of the highlights of every Dalmatian journey.

Day 5 (Wed) Korčula Island Cycle approx. 55 km/34 miles
Crossing during breakfast to Korcula Island. The peacefulness and remoteness of luscious gardens with large cypresses dominate the appearance of perhaps the most beautiful Dalmatian island. We cycle along the 12km/7 mile long coastal road to Racisce for lunch. After a short period of pushing our bike to Pupnat we’ll reach the old 200m/660 ft. high pass road above the magnificent bay of Pupnat and later the village of Blato which, like Rome, was built on 7 hills. Overnight stay in the harbor Vela Luka.

Day 6 (Thurs) Hvar Island Cycle approx. 20 + 25 km/12,5 + 15 miles
After arriving in Hvar we make an interesting tour around the town, across the large Renaissance square, which is lined with the cathedral and many late gothic palaces. Our first bike tour for today leads us along the almost traffic free pass road through small villages. After lunch in Stari Grad we make a second cycle tour. The destinations for the tour are the harbours of Jelsa and Vrboska, which invite us to an extended break. We stay overnight in Stari Grad, which has become a Mecca for artists and art lovers in the past few years.

Day 7 (Fri) Solta Island Cycle approx. 19 km/12 miles
After crossing over to Stomorska on the island of Solta we commence our last cycle tour. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. The herb smells of lavender and rosemary accompany us along our tour of this island. In Maslinica we’ll load the bikes onto the ship and enjoy our last crossing back to Trogir where, if time permits, we can take a tour of the old town which is a world heritage site.

Day 8 (Sat)Disembarkation at Trogir

Split  – distance 15 minutes – individual taxi transfer (ca. £25  per way)
Zadar – distance 1,5 hours – collected transfer (£35 per person/way)

Accommodation:
Ship Kapetan Jure (all cabins with shower/toilet)
The Kapetan Jure is a 27-metre-long and 7-metre-wide comfortable and spacious wooden motor yacht that was built in 2000. 11 of the 15 cabins are on deck. 10 of these are furnished with the two beds arranged side by side, while one cabin has bunk beds. The remaining 4 cabins are below deck, and are furnished with a French bed (140 cm wide) and a porthole. Captain Anton and his crew form an experienced team, which knows how to pamper their guests with delicious specialties.The cabins have simple, but functional equipment and are furnished with two beds and a small wardrobe or an open shelf. There is enough space for sleeping and storing a sea bag or a travel bag. Due to the shape of the ship’s hull, the size of the cabins may vary. However, a price differentiation is made only with respect to cabins “on deck” and “below deck”.

Ship San Snova (shower/toilet in each cabin)
The MS San Snova is a brand-new wooden motor sailer to be launched in spring 2009 and made exclusively for Island hopping cruises. The ship, constructed entirely of oak, was built in three years by the Scherka family in their own carpentry workshop as family project. The ship, 31 m long and 8 m wide, meets the highest expectations in regard to comfort, elegance and style, combining romantic seafaring with modernity and functionalism. Young captain Tonci, his brother Josip and ever-cheerful Jelena pride themselves in the meticulous appearance of the ship and the cordiality on board. The San Snova has five double cabins (with French beds 200 x 160 cm) and five triple cabins above deck (with French beds 200 x 160 cm and bunk beds 200 x 80 cm) as well as two three-bed-cabins and two four-bed-cabins below deck (all with single beds 200 x 90 cm). The fittings of the cabins as well as the saloon and the outside area are of superior quality with many carefully created details. The roomy sun deck offers comfortable mats for relaxing and lounge chairs are found on the afterdeck. So let yourself be pampered end enjoy the “Dream of Dreams” (San Snova), as the Scherka family named their new ship!

Ship Romantica (all cabins with shower/toilet)
The Romantica of captain Jure was launched only in May 2007. The ship is 32 m long and 7,6 m wide and it possesses a solid structural steelwork, which, as the name says, connects romance with modern trend and functionally. To the elegant appearance of his ship captain Jure pays a lot of attention: 17 comfortably equipped cabins with a size of 9-10 square meters also offer sufficient area to larger groups to accommodation. The generous cabins feature elevated equipment. The far sundeck offers couch mats for sunbathing and relaxing. A characteristic of the ship is a platform at the stern of the boat, from which you can take a bath in the sea in a very comfortable way.
