Welcome to Hooked on Cycling holidays and our cycling holiday in the Tyrol region of the Austrian Alps. This biking vacation is an easy self guided cycle tour based for the full week in one hotel. This has great advantages as it means that not every day do you need to cycle , you can enjoy the hotel facilities , go hiking or maybe just chill out and relax with wonderful mountains scenes all around you. In all directions you will see mountains upto 2500m high , early and late season snow capped. This is an easy tour where we take you up the valleys in all directions mainly on purpose built safe cycle ways. Your 4 star hotel has all the amenities you would expect.

Tour Character
All in all an easy tour. Mostly cycle paths of the river valleys of Inn and Ziller are used. Only a few, short ascents. Cycling on lovely cycle paths and minor roads with only a few main roads for short distances

Day 1 Saturday
Arrival at Fügen not far from Innsbruck. The most convienet train station is Jenbach which is easily reached from Salzburg , Innsbruck or Munich by train

Day 2 Sunday Zillertal 0-27miles , 0-43km
Today you have a wonderful cycle tour along the Zillertal cycling path where you cycle alongside the River Ziller.  Enjoy the marvellous view to the mountains. You reach Zell / Ziller with its baroque church and Mayrhofen which is a beautiful mountain resort. Then it is back along the River Ziller by bike or by train

Day 3 Monday Kramsacher lakes  32 miles 52km
A cycling tour along the Zillertal cycling path  further on to Bruck. Then along the River Inn to Brixlegg on the left side of the River to Kramsach and the “Kramsacher lakes “. A great possibility to swim there or to visit a farmer's museum. After you cycle along the lakes to Breitenbach and back along the Inn to Rattenberg; and back to Fügen

Day 4 Tuesday Innsbruck 35 miles 56km by bike ( back by train ) 
A cycling tour to Jenbach with its steam railway and further on along the Inn to Schloss Tratzberg and to the crystal area called  Wattens.  Cycle further on to Hall and Innsbruck ,  visit this beautiful city and the back  by train to Jenbach and then cycling the short distance back to Fugen..

Day 5 Wednesday
A day of rest today maybe visit Fügen or enjoy this day at your beautiful 4 star hotel. You could decide to cycle down to Jenbach and take the old Steam-rack railway to Lake Achensee at around 800m above sea level and do a wonderful bike ride around the lake or maybe a boat trip.

Day 6 Thursday round trip  Schwaz 32 miles 52km
Cycling tour on the Zillertal cycling path to the estuary of the Ziller into the Inn. Further on to Jenbach you reach Schwaz which is one of the richest towns in Europe and a beautiful old town to visit. Back over Maurach and back to Inn.

Day 7 Friday Kufstein  33 miles 54 km 47km by train
Cycling tour to Rattenberg, Wörgl and Kufstein said by many as one of the most beautiful villages in Tyrol. You will see a famous old fortress from the middle ages and the Heldenorgel a famous organ. After your visit it is then back  by train to Brixlegg and then bike back to Fugen.
