Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holiday in Croatia. This biking vacation in Croatia is a wonderful guided bike tour by bike and boat. Stunning cycle rides during the day and relaxation on your floating hotel at night. The wonders of this type of holiday is that if you do not cycle or do not wish to cycle you can stay on board and soak up the sun. This  bike and boat tour  is around the central Dalmatia region of Croatia.
Croatia has a beautiful coast with thousands of islands, reefs and bays. Numerous romantic ruins, charming hills, countless natural beauties and phenomena are waiting to be discovered. On this tour we shall visit two national parks and the islands of Central Dalmatia, starting from Trogir. Highlights include the UNESCO protected old town of Trogir, Primošten, Šibenik with its famous cathedral, Zadar, National Park Krka waterfalls and Kornati Islands.

Level 2 Guided Bike and Boat Tour

Day 1 (Sat) Trogir – Rogoznica approx. 17 km/10 miles by bike.
After checking in on the motor yacht at Trogir and a first lunch on board, our first cruise starts leading us to Rogoznica. In the afternoon we will
start a round tour cycling along the wide bay; you may also visit the idyllic village in 150m of altitude.

Day 2 (Sun) Rogoznica – Primošten – Šibenik – Vodice approx. 15 km/9 miles by bike.
In the morning we will bike from Rogoznica to Primošten. Our motor yacht will then take us through a narrow passage to Šibenik. After visiting the famous cathedral and the old town, our ship will take off again and continue towards Vodice, where we stay this night.

Day 3 (Mon) Vodice – Murter – Telašćica approx. 30 km/18 miles by bike.
In the morning we cycle from Vodice to the island of Murter, which is connected with the mainland by a lift bridge. We will meet the ship for dinner in a romantic quiet harbor. In the afternoon we go on a cruise through the national park of the Kornati islands, an archipelago of crystal clear waters known for its diverse flora and fauna. In the peaceful atmosphere of the Telašćica nature park we go for a walk along the impressing cliffs of the island.

Day 4 (Tue) Island of Dugi Otok approx. 35 km/22 miles by bike.
Our bike tour begins in Telašćica Nature Park along a virtually traffic-freBike and Boat tour in Europee road. Along a panoramic road, we ride clear across the island. During the ride we’re treated to countless unforgettable vistas of the islands in the deep blue sea. We meet our ship in the harbor of Savar and have lunch. Afterwards the ship takes us to Zadar, which, for centuries, was the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia. Our tour guide takes us on an extensive walk through the lanes of the lively old centre. 3000 years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortified walls with their bastions, the loggia but also the early Romanesque St. Donatus basilica. Overnight in the harbor of Zadar.

Day 5 (Wed) Islands of Pašman and Ugljan – Krka National Park approx. 30 km / 18 miles by bike.
While we enjoy breakfast, our ship takes us to the island of Ugljan at the Zadar Canal. We bicycle along the east coast and cross a bridge to reach the island of Pašman. In the afternoon, the ship takes us further and further up the Krka River. In the evening we arrive in Skradin, from where we’ll explore the magnificent lower waterfalls of Krka in the national park of the Canyon of Krka, a geological peculiarity under protection. Here the Krka meanders the first 10 km through a flat region, followed by 40 km through canyons and then 20 km past lakes, which are connected with the Adriatic.

Day 6 (Thu) National Park of Krka – Island Zlarin approx. 19 miles 31 km.
Today we explore the Krka National Park on our bicycles. Through wooded valleys we ride to Lake Visovac. On an island in the lake is the VisoCycle tour in Croatia vac Monastery. It was settled by Augustinian monks, who established a small monastery and church dedicated to the Apostle Paul in the 14th century. After a swimming break we cycle back to Skradin through quiet villages. In the late afternoon we sail to the coral island of Zlarin. In the peaceful atmosphere of the island we spend a relaxing evening.

Day 7 (Fri) Island of Solta approx. 9-25 miles 15 or 40 km by bike.
In the morning our motor yacht will take us to island Solta. Olive and fig trees and farmland surround the streets. The spicy smell of lavender and rosmary will follow you throughout the whole tour around the silent island until we reach the village Grohote. During mid day our last cruise will take us back to Trogir. Here we will have enough time to visit the world cultural heritage and medieval old town. After dinner it is time to say good bye to crew and travel guides.

Day 8 (Sat) Departure

Minimum number 16 persons , minimum age 10 and height above 140 cm.

How to get there
By plane to Split and then by taxi to harbour.
Split  – distance 15 minutes – individual taxi transfer (ca. £25  per way)
Zadar – distance 1,5 hours – collected transfer (£35 per person/way)

Ship KAPETAN JURE (all cabins with shower/toilet)
The Kapetan Jure is a 27-metre-long and 7-metre-wide comfortable and spacious wooden motor yacht that was built in 2000. 11 of the 15 cabins are on deck. 10 of these are furnished with the two beds arranged side by side, while one cabin has bunk beds. The remaining 4 cabins are below deck, and are furnished with a French bed (140 cm wide) and a porthole. Captain Anton and his crew form an experienced team, which knows how to pamper their guests with delicious specialties. The cabins have simple, but functional equipment and are furnished with two beds and a small wardrobe or an open shelf. There is enough space for sleeping and storing a sea bag or a travel bag. Due to the shape of the ship’s hull, the size of the cabins may vary. However, a price differentiation is made only with respect to cabins “on deck” and “below deck”.

The Romantica of captain Jure was launched only in May 2007. The ship is 32 m long and 7,6 m wide and it possesses a solid structural steelwork, which, as the name says, connects romance with modern trend and functionally. To the elegant appearance of his ship captain Jure pays a lot of attention: 17 comfortably equipped cabins with a size of 9-10 square meters also offer sufficient area to larger groups to accommodation. The generous cabins feature elevated equipment. The far sundeck offers couch mats for sunbathing and relaxing. A characteristic of the ship is a platform at the stern of the boat, from which you can take a bath in the sea in a very comfortable way.

 

Premium Ship SAN SNOVA (all cabins with shower/toilet)
San Snova – Dream of Dreams – is the name of this brand new ship was launched in spring 2009 and built specifically foSan Snovar Island Hopping cruises. This ship, 31 m long and 8 m wide, combines romantic seafaring with the highest qualifications of a motor sailer used for cruises. Ten cabins above deck as well as four cabins below deck are available to Island hoppers. They are outstanding in their spaciousness and comfortable furnishings. All cabins have their own bathroom with shower and toilet and are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning. The crew of the San Snova is a young, very sympathetic team who are already looking forward to welcome you on board.
