Tour Details

Experience the Cevennes and the Ardeche Gorge on this self guided cycling holiday from Hooked on Cycling. On this bike vacation, you shall cycle up the beautiful valley of the river Rhône starting in Avignon. Soon one reaches Bagnols-sur-Cèze where we leave the Rhône and arrive at the foothills of the Cevennes. The Cevennes feature many stunningly wild landscapes in which the Ardèche-Canyon is certainly the highlight. In 1994 researchers found the oldest cave in the world, at the bottom of this amazing canyon. The prehistoric Chauvet-Cave is over 31,000 years old and approximately 420 paintings and engravings have been found.

On this cycle tour, not only will you experience breathtaking landscapes and highly interesting culture and history, but also we found some lovely and stylish properties and hotels in the region for your overnights.
