Afterwards, you will bike along the River Loisach through unspoiled nature to the famous Olympic town of Garmisch Partenkirchen (the Olympic winter games have been held here). Today’s stage is kept quite short, to enable you to take the mountain railway up to Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze (2962 m), here you will have breathtaking views across the Alps.

This was once an important trading place, situated at the crossing of two old trading routes the River Isar and the old salt route from Reichenhall to Allgäu. You will see wonderful impressive richly decorated old buildings so typical of this region.

Day 6 Bad Tolz – Tegernsee – Bad Tolz up to 28 miles (0-45km)
