Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our cycling holiday in Germany. On this cycle tour, you shall experience marine-colored blue lakes, lush green fields, and white-stoned fairy-tale-like castles as you cycle on a loop from Lake Constance to Fussen and back to Lake Constance. You cycle along the Lake Constance-Lake Königsee cycle path through the alpine upland and enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Allgäu alps. You shall see the famous Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles as you bike through Fussen before heading back to your start point, Lindau on Lake Constance.

You will cycle on mostly quiet country roads, and sometimes unmade cycle paths and farm trails. As the route takes you through the alpine upland, you can expect both level and hilly sections.

During the day arrive at the town of Lindau located on the north-east of Lake Constance. Lindau is a historic town with a fabulous backdrop of mountain and lake landscapes.
After a short section along the banks of the lake, you follow the Lake Constance-Lake Königsee cycle path up into the Allgäu countryside. All the way to today‘s destination, the Schroth spa town of Oberstaufen, you cycle past rich green fields, grazing cows and can enjoy the beautiful views of the Allgäu alps.
A wonderful day to explore the surrounding countryside of Obersatufen with its many mountain and cable cars. Go for a hike, enjoy the panoramic views from a mountain top or just enjoy this wonderful town.
First of all, today, you cycle through the valley of the Konstanz Ach stream to the Großer Alpsee lake. You will cycle along the side of the lovely Lake Rottachsee until you finally get to the highest point of the tour at Oy-Mittelberg, which is over 1000 m above sea level. Now it‘s just a short cycle to today‘s destination in Nesselwang.
There is a lot to see in Füssen and Schwangau: the Gothic Hohes Schloss castle, the impressive Lechfall Falls, not to forget the world-famous Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Those of you who prefer a longer route can follow the Forggensee Lake cycle path, which takes you around the Allgäu‘s biggest lake. There are plenty of opportunities to go for a swim on the way.
Today you leave Füssen and cycle alongside Germany’s largest reservoir Forggensee to Marktoberdorf. Now you head into the Kempton forest where it is a little undulating to Kempton your overnight destination. Actually, Kempton has a fascinating history, it was founded by the
Romans in 15BC as the town of Cambodunum, and is one of the oldest towns in Germany. It has a nice Basilica dating from the 17th century with two domed towers and an elaborate interior. The staterooms of the ancient residence is well worth a visit, they have a guided tour to explain its history.
Today you cycle along a disused railway track, now a cycle path in the Württemberg part of the Allgäu, until the European watershed of the Rhine and the Danube. Here you can take a rest in Isny, a town on the Upper Swabian Region. After a rest and some refreshments, you join the Danube – Lake Constance cycle path towards Wangen your destination.
You cycle along the Danube-Lake Constance-cycle path today, through the Tettnang hops area, the most southern hops growing area in Germany. You continue to Kressbronn where you are back at Lake Constance where you now follow the Lake Constance cycle path the last few kilometers back to Lindau.
By Plane to Zurich, then a train ride to Lindau, to Munich and then train to Lindau or even fly to Freidrickshaffen (they closest small airport) and the train to Lindau
