Day 1Individual arrival in Constance/Kruezlingen

If you arrive earlier enough, take the chance to visit Mainau island or take a walk through the old town of Constance. The aquariums in the Sea Life Center and the Archaeological Museum.

Day 2Constance – Lindau,  31 miles 50 km + ferry

From Constance-Staad you will take the car ferry to Meersburg with its ancient Merovingian castle. You will cycle through vineyards to the Bavarian island town of Lindau. You cycle along the Lake Constance cycle path passing through lovely little villages such as Wasserburg and Nonnenhorn until you reach your destination Lindau. Lindau has a lovely historic centre which is worthwhile to visit.

Day 3Lindau – Oberstaufen, 35 miles 55 km

After a short section along the banks of the lake, you follow the Lake Constance-Lake Königsee cycle path up into the Allgäu countryside. All the way to today‘s destination, the Schroth spa town of Oberstaufen, you cycle past rich green fields, grazing cows and can enjoy the beautiful views of the Allgäu alps.

Day 4Oberstaufen – Nesselwang, 35 miles 55 km

First of all, today, you cycle through the valley of the Konstanz Ach stream to the Großer Alpsee lake. You will cycle along the side of the lovely Lake Rottachsee until you finally get to the highest point of the tour at Oy-Mittelberg, which is over 1000 m above sea level. Now it‘s just a short cycle to today‘s destination in Nesselwang.

Day 5Nesselwang – Füssen/Schwangau, 18/41 miles 30/65 km

There is a lot to see in Füssen and Schwangau: the Gothic Hohes Schloss castle, the impressive Lechfall Falls, not to forget the world-famous Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Those of you who prefer a longer route can follow the Forggensee Lake cycle path, which takes you around the Allgäu‘s biggest lake. There are plenty of opportunities to go for a swim on the way.

Day 6 Füssen/Schwangau – Murnau am Staffelsee, 31 miles 50 km

Today‘s section is distinguished by its beautiful countryside, the Forggensee lake and Bannwaldsee lake at the beginning and Staffelsee lake at the end of the day. Today you cycle through long stretches of woodland, which you cycle through on the Königstraße path and the Murnauer Moos, which is the biggest area of moorland in Central Europe. A smack of adventure is provided by having to cross the Löhnbach river without a bridge! You cycle through a ford to the bank on the other side.

Day 7Murnau am Staffelsee – Starnberger See, 37 miles 60 km.

Today, you leave the Lake Constance-Lake Königsee cycle path and continue your route towards the state capital town of Munich. You cycle along well-paved paths through small villages and past numerous lakes. The most well-known is the Starnberger Lake where your days’ riding will end.
