Day 2Lindau – Oberstaufen, 35 miles 55 km

After a short section along the banks of the lake, you follow the Lake Constance-Lake Königsee cycle path up into the Allgäu countryside. All the way to today‘s destination, the Schroth spa town of Oberstaufen, you cycle past rich green fields, grazing cows and can enjoy the beautiful views of the Allgäu alps.

Day 3Free day in Oberstaufen

A wonderful day to explore the surrounding countryside of Obersatufen with its many mountain and cable cars. Go for a hike, enjoy the panoramic views from a mountain top or just enjoy this wonderful town.

Day 4Oberstaufen – Nesselwang, 35 miles 55 km

First of all, today, you cycle through the valley of the Konstanz Ach stream to the Großer Alpsee lake. You will cycle along the side of the lovely Lake Rottachsee until you finally get to the highest point of the tour at Oy-Mittelberg, which is over 1000 m above sea level. Now it‘s just a short cycle to today‘s destination in Nesselwang.

Day 5Nesselwang to Fussen, 18/41 miles 30/65 km

There is a lot to see in Füssen and Schwangau: the Gothic Hohes Schloss castle, the impressive Lechfall Falls, not to forget the world-famous Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Those of you who prefer a longer route can follow the Forggensee Lake cycle path, which takes you around the Allgäu‘s biggest lake. There are plenty of opportunities to go for a swim on the way.

Day 6 Füssen to Kempten, 44 miles 70 km.

Today you leave Füssen and cycle alongside Germany’s largest reservoir Forggensee to Marktoberdorf. Now you head into the Kempton forest where it is a little undulating to Kempton your overnight destination.  Actually, Kempton has a fascinating history, it was founded by the

Romans in 15BC as the town of Cambodunum, and is one of the oldest towns in Germany. It has a nice Basilica dating from the 17th century with two domed towers and an elaborate interior. The staterooms of the ancient residence is well worth a visit, they have a guided tour to explain its history.

Day 7Kempten to Wangen / Allgäu, 40 miles 65 km.

Today you cycle along a disused railway track, now a cycle path in the Württemberg part of the Allgäu, until the European watershed of the Rhine and the Danube. Here you can take a rest in Isny, a town on the Upper Swabian Region. After a rest and some refreshments, you join the Danube – Lake Constance cycle path towards Wangen your destination.
