This biking vacation along the River Moselle in Germany is available as a level 2 self-guided cycle tour. The vineyard lined Moselle Valley provides a uniquely inviting setting for a fabulous cycle tour. You will trace your way along the meandering bends and curves while learning about its rich and varied history. Of course, you can also try the rich fruity Moselle wines to see if they live up to there reputation. When you reach each destination or during the days ride walk around the ancient narrow lanes and splendid avenues of the river’s charming villages and historic cities.

During the day arrive to your hotel in Perl where you will find your rental bikes if booked. If you have time explore the historical centre famed for its pretty narrow streets and farmers houses.
Today’s cycle ride is a very pretty bike tour through many vineyards famous for this region. Cycling through some wonderful towns and villages such as Oberbilling, Grevenmacher and Konz.
If on the 5night tour, during the day arrive in Trier. If you arrive earlier enough why not take a one hour, boat ride on the Moselle. If you do not have time, you can also take this boat ride on the next day before setting out on your bike.
You continue to cycle along the Moselle Valley and pass Schweich, the Trittenheimer Moselschleife and the vineyards of Trittenheim. This town is a pretty hamlet in the middle of the Moselle wine district. Here you can sample wines during the evening.
Today the numerous Moselle loops determine the landscape you see today. Firstly through pretty vineyards to Bernkastel-Kues. You shall see Landshut Castle on the right side of the Moselle. If you visit, we suggest on foot as there is a steep ascent. approx. 45. The beautiful half-timbered houses of Kues are already visible from the bike path. There was a settlement from the Neolithic Age which was excavated in Kues. The market square is exceptionally pretty. After your visit continues to Traben Trarbach where you can admire the old city walls.
As you cycle today you will see the steepest vineyards of Europe. Later on the day, you will pass through Calmont with its ruined monastery and Beilstein with its ruined castle of Metternichs. You will stay tonight in the picturesque Cochem.
Today is castle day, as you cycle you will see numerous castles like Klotten, Bischofstein and Thurant, all worthwhile a stop and a look, soon you will arrive in Koblenz and your tour is now complete.
You have the possibility to book additional nights or travel back to Trier by bus (Saturday) or by train (other days)
By plane to Strasbourg, Brussels, or Frankfurt airports and then by train to Trier
