Our Emilia Romagna cycle resort is based in the seaside town of Cesenatico which is easily reached by train from Bologna. This is a guided cycling holiday where most guests would ride a road bike. We have selected a wonderful four-star hotel right on the beach with its own swimming pool. It is a fabulous location for cyclists, their partners and even families to spend time there. You know in Italy hospitality seems to become second nature and you will soon feel at home in the lovely family-owned and run hotel.
The region around Cesenatico is a great place to ride, a total flat section is all around the town but with 10-12 miles you can be in the hills and Apennine mountains where any amount of challenge can be found. It is also the birth town of Marco Pantani a famous Italian cyclist who had one the famous grand tours of Italy and France along with 46 race victories. There is a museum dedicated to him near the towns train station.
From the hotel, there will be at least 5 guided rides during the week, at least 1 guide will be present but often 3-5 guided rides are possible in peak months. Each night the next day’s rides will be posted on the notice board, each will be at different average speed to ensure everyone can ride in a group which is not too fast or slow for them.
