Welcome to Hooked on Cycling Holidays and our wonderful cycling holiday in Corsica. This biking vacation is based in the beautiful North Corsica. Corsica is known to be a "Mountain in the Sea" and it offers you diversity of the most astonishing landscapes. This biking vacation in Corsica is a self guided cycle level 3 tour due to the high climbs in the region but most days have different options and some are pretty short. This circuit will let you discover the littoral of Corsica as well as its interior. The kilometres will follow one another but do not resemble, the landscapes which are different each day. You will meet proud inhabitants of their island who will make you share their enthusiasm and will make you discover the Corsican gastronomy.

Day 1 Arrive Bastia
Arrive to Poretta airport ( Bastia ) in Northern Corsica and transfer to Bastia which will take around 30 minutes. If you have time to discover the capital of the Upper-Corsica visit the old port which is superb as well as the freely accessible citadel and the old city which offers a wonderful panorama on the sea and the surroundings. For dinner, we advise you go to the old port which has a particular kind of atmosphere.
Day 2 The Corsica Cape 48 km , 65 km or 75 km
Today you mount your cycle and leave northwest, on a road which follows the sea, passing by the wooded inland which joins the other side of the island and its superb cliffs. The course is strewn with Genoese and Paoline towers as well as old convents and mills. The seascapes with their small fishing ports are splendid. Your stop for the night is near Nonza. Do not miss the tower of Nonza which overhangs the coast and its black pebble beaches.
Day 3 From the Cape to the Gulf of Saint-Florent 26 km, 45 km
You leave the Corsica Cape to go southward, in the direction of Saint-Florent. According to the chosen route, you will be able to discover the village of Patrimonio, famous in the whole Corsica for its vineyards. Wine tasting is possible in the cellars of the village. This route offers a superb point to view the Gulf of Saint-Florent. In Saint-Florent, do not fail to visit the citadel and to stroll around the port and its small commercial streets.
Day 4 – The Desert of Agriates 48 km , 67 km or 77 km
Today you leave to go to the heart of the Agriates Desert. From hamlet to hamlet, you cross this superb desert which will bring you closer to the sea again. According to the chosen route, you will be able to follow a road which will take you into the heights of Balagne to see superb landscapes before going down towards the littoral and its Genoese Towers. You will arrive soon at Ile Rousse, your stop for the night. Do not miss the sunset on the end of the island which will make you understand why this city was named Ile Rousse. The heart of the city is very animated in summer time and abounds with colors.
Day 5 Villages of Balagne 26 km, 38 km or 47 km
This day offers several options. The most motivated will follow the coast to Calvi and its beautiful citadel before going up to the villages of Balagne. This area is bewitching. These stone villages perched in the middle of nowhere have an astonishing beauty and keep themselves from modernism. Your stop for the night will be in one of these typical villages of Balagne.
Day 6 The Corsica Inheritance. 36 km or 44km or 61km (with passes)
You will continue into the villages of Balagne by discovering superb testimonies of the past through old churches and convents. Your course is divided into two roads, one of them makes it possible to ride on some mountain passes located at more than 1200m of altitude. Then, you will follow the border of the Natural reserve of Corsica until you reach Ponte Leccia, your stop for the night. This day will be, without any doubt, marked by the numerous animals that you will meet wandering in free dom, cows, pigs, goats...
Day 7 Descent in Castagniccia. 31km 50 km or 58 km.
Today you will cycle along the villages of Castagniccia known for their chapels, their numerous natural sources as well as their ancestral culture of sweet chestnut. Royal Milan, this impressive raptor is widespread in this region and you will surely see it hovering over your heads. You will cross many rivers and brooks before arriving at the coast. Your stop for the night will be in a village close to the airport.
Day 8 Your tour is complete
After your breakfast, a transfer can be organized towards the airport or the harbour station.
